Top Five Places to Brunch in Santa Fe

Now that we actually CAN go out and brunch (somewhat) like we used to in Santa Fe, I thought it would be a good idea to give you my thoughts on some of the top brunch spots in town. If nothing else it ought to get your mouth watering for a breakfast burrito or huevos rancheros!

*Excluded from this list is anything too “hoity-toity” because I like to keep it real and casual when I brunch!

1.) The Pantry

The Pantry is my #1 with a bullet! I would eat there every day if I could (and some weeks I have!). Their breakfast items are amazing but so are their lunch and dinners. You really can’t go wrong with the Pantry. I highly recommend the stuffed French toast or the Buenos Dias for breakfast. Honestly, you better just go ahead and order both. The Pantry also has, in my opinion, the best red chile in town.

(or try their other locations: The Pantry Dos or Pantry Rio)

2.) Tia Sophia’s

Tia Sophia’s is practically a historic landmark in Santa Fe. Right off the plaza on San Francisco St., this is the perfect place to stop in before taking a stroll downtown. Of course, their breakfast burritos are a thing of beauty, but I’m happy with anything there that’s covered in green chile. You can’t beat the service and at-home feeling at Tia Sophia’s either, every time I walk in I’m greeted by the sweetest people in town.

3.) The Tune Up

The Tune-Up is adorable, funky, and fun. It’s a little different than the other restaurants on this list because it is “order-at-the-counter” style. It’s also a place where you typically have to sit at a community table, but with COVID restrictions, that has changed a bit as well. I live for the pancakes at the Tune-Up. Whether you’re all about a fashion corned beef hash for breakfast or something more decadent, like a compote stuffed french toast. The tune-up is a great option for anyone.

4.) Tesuque Village Market

If your idea of a great brunch is a spicy Bloody Mary, then you’re going to want to head over to the Tesuque Market. Although it’s still technically in Santa Fe, this one is a bit of a drive, but worth itLocated right outside Santa Fe off the highway, getting to this brunch spot also gets you some great sights along the way. You can get anything from Norwegian Smoked Salmon on a bagel to Aguacate with huevos there and trust me, it’s all good! And did I mention, the bloody marys are delicious!

5.) Plaza Cafe

Some might say I’ve saved the best for last, and honestly, that might be true. The Plaza Cafe is a staple here in Santa Fe and definitely, somewhere you can eat any time of day, but the breakfasts there are especially tasty! The food is great, and the view is unbeatable. If you want the true Santa Fe experience, get a seat by the window and watch the world of the Santa Fe Plaza go by. Don’t forget to grab a slice of their famous pie, even if you’re just there for brunch. In my opinion, pie is good for breakfast too!

(or visit the Plaza Southside for a different vibe but still great food)
